LEGO Club
LEGO construction sparks the imagination, requires engineering and problem-solving skills, and incorporates tactile, three-dimensional physical development. During LEGO Club, the Library provides the LEGOs, you provide the imagination and building skills. This is a come and go event; you may stay as long as you like during the 60 minute program. Club meets the first Tuesday evening, and third Saturday morning of each month. For ages 6-12 and siblings.
Preteen Time
An hour-long program specifically for children aged 9-12, Preteen Night offers varied content two Thursdays a month: cooking, STEM, crafts and seasonally-themed classes. Preteen Night ties into other Thursday programs, including the Preteen Makers and Pokémon Club.
Pokemon Club
This casual meet-up provides a supervised place for Preteen-aged children to trade Pokémon cards and play associated games. The theme and offered activities change each month. Past programs have included Pokémon-themed cookie decorating, lantern-building and a trivia night! Pokémon Club meets the last Thursday of the month and is appropriate for children ages 9-12.
Family Fun
TPML’s Family Fun programs are for all ages. Typically held on Saturdays, they offer everything from science learning to crafting. All programs are free but materials may be limited by availability.
Story Tails
Children who read aloud to therapy animals show dramatic improvement in their reading skills and confidence because the animals provide a safe space for beginning or struggling readers.
Pick out a book and come read with Lucy the Therapy Poodle and her handler Nan Borden who are registered through Therapy Animals of San Antonio.
