What is InterLibrary Loan?

InterLibrary loan (ILL) is a worldwide cooperative program that allows Library users to borrow physical materials from other libraries. The purpose of ILL is to provide access to resources that are not available through our Library. You can request print materials, DVDs, and audio-CDs.

To be eligible to request items that are not available in the TPML collection from another library, a person must have had a Member card with TPML for at least three months and have no outstanding fees. By submitting a request you have read and agreed to the InterLibrary loan agreement.

Each cardholder is limited to 5 requests per month. The lending library determines the due date. Please request renewals at least 1 week in advance of due date. Renewals are NOT guaranteed.

There is no charge to the user for this service.

We are unable to borrow textbooks or study guides.

You are required to wait 3 months before re-requesting items through the ILL service.

Online through our website;

1. Logging in: To log-in to your account, click the Account | Catalog link in the upper left corner of the welcome screen. When the new screen opens, enter your library card number and password/10-digit phone number in the designated log-in box in the top right corner of the screen.
2. Click the “My Account” button below your account number in the top right corner.
3. Click on the “Reserves / Requests” tab in the grey drop-down section.
4. Click “Let us know” next to “Is the Library missing something?”
5. Fill in the form.
   • Change “Is it OK to borrow from another Library?” to Yes.
   • Please include any additional information you may have to ensure that we get the correct item. This may include publication year, actors, director, large/regular print preference, etc.
